Favorite Quote

I usually don’t like quotes. My favorite quote is “ The word ‘happy’ would lose it's meaning if it were  not balanced by sadness. This quote is by Carl Jung. I think this quote has a very true meaning. The meaning is that you wouldn’t be happy and cheerful if you never experienced sadness every once and a while. You need to have happiness and sadness in your life.

The Incentive room was not as fun as I thought. I picked open gym. In open gym you can play basketball or volleyball. I really wanted to play volleyball but Ms. Morton only wanted to take out two volleyballs. Instead, I sat down with my friend and did nothing. We only got 30 minutes and then we had to go to the MPR. We also did nothing there. But then finally, the day was over! We were out of school for two weeks!

Chicago History

There are many parts to Chicago History but one important event I will be focusing on is the Great Chicago Fire. The Great Chicago Fire was a fire that occurred October 8th, 1871 to October 10th, 1871. Sunday to Tuesday. Just by the dates you can already notice that the fire took a while to put out.  This fire in Chicago killed up to 300 people, destroyed 17,500 buildings, and destroyed 2,000 lampposts. This was roughly 3.3 square miles of Chicago that was destroyed. The fire also left 100,000 residents homeless. There are many different beliefs on how the fire started.
