Hi my name is Veronica Liz and I am 17 years old, the only child. I am Puerto Rican and Mexican. I currently live in Chicago, Illinois. Most people call me a superhero, just not when I’m being myself. I think I’m different when I save people. I feel strong and Fearless, something I never feel when not saving and helping the world. Saving people makes me very happy but not just and happy, a special happy. One that seems to make the world light up. I am scared of death. I belive people should die from natural causes. What frightens me the most when people die and I could’ve saved them. Although it is sad it motivates me to work harder. I deal with anger very well by just accepting things for what happens. I am very polite. Especially in school where I am a senior and about to graduate. Most people call me very smart. Hatred embarrasses me most. When somebody says something to me that is hurtful and mean I never know how to respond so I just freak out and run away. I don’t have any mentel illnesses. I see myself as just an average girl. I have pink eyes, strawberry blonde hair, and I dress very flashy. I wear lots of dresses. I think my best quality is my smile. I belive in god and I am catholic. When I wasn’t a hero I felt like there was no need for me but now I feel so amazing and confident.

The Incentive room was not as fun as I thought. I picked open gym. In open gym you can play basketball or volleyball. I really wanted to play volleyball but Ms. Morton only wanted to take out two volleyballs. Instead, I sat down with my friend and did nothing. We only got 30 minutes and then we had to go to the MPR. We also did nothing there. But then finally, the day was over! We were out of school for two weeks!

Chicago History

There are many parts to Chicago History but one important event I will be focusing on is the Great Chicago Fire. The Great Chicago Fire was a fire that occurred October 8th, 1871 to October 10th, 1871. Sunday to Tuesday. Just by the dates you can already notice that the fire took a while to put out.  This fire in Chicago killed up to 300 people, destroyed 17,500 buildings, and destroyed 2,000 lampposts. This was roughly 3.3 square miles of Chicago that was destroyed. The fire also left 100,000 residents homeless. There are many different beliefs on how the fire started.
